Test probe for determining the dimensional stability of parts made of non-ceramic, non-metallic materials against stress at higher temperatures up to a maximum of 250 ° C.
It can be used to test electronic equipment, its assemblies and components as well as solid electrical insulation materials with the exception of ceramics.
The ball pressure tester consists of a steel ball, diameter 5 mm, a ball holder with cross hole and clamping screw for the bracket, a bracket for holding the weights and two weights with fastenings.
The device exerts a weight of 20 N ± 0.2 N.
The scope of delivery includes a solid steel cylinder with a diameter of 50 mm and a height of 100 mm, with a flat, smooth contact surface.
Total mass 2040 g ± 10 g for applying the compressive force 20 N, weights carefully balanced.
Ball pressure test:
According to the applicable standard, a sufficiently large sample of the test object is placed on the support cylinder. Now the specimen is loaded centrically at a certain temperature in a warming cabinet for the prescribed time with the ball pressure device downwards. After the test, the optically measured ball impression must not be greater than that specified in the standard.
