Swallowing cylinder for proving the protection of small children against the risk of choking from small parts.
The test cylinder is made of stainless steel. All dimensions relevant in the standard are exactly observed (precision gauge). Optionally, a factory or DAkkS calibration certificate with tolerance dimensions and actual values can be supplied.
The standard gullet is a test cylinder the size of a child's gullet. The standard gullet is used to test whether toys or small parts on toys can be swallowed by small children under the age of 3 and thus pose a risk to the health of the children (e.g. through choking). If the tested part fits completely into the cylinder, it is considered as swallowable, i.e. it is not allowed as a toy for the mentioned age group. It should be noted that neither the test cylinder nor the parts to be tested may be compressed in any way!
